- With gloves on, either wipe the frost away or use a plastic credit card to scrape it.
Saltwater
To melt the ice on your windscreen, mix a tablespoon of salt with two glasses of water and sprinkle it on the surface.
However, be careful not to spray this mixture on your car's painted parts as salt can accumulate over time and start to eat away at your paint job, exposing the metal underneath and leading to rust. It is the easiest and most practical way to get rid of frost windshields.
Windshield Defrosting with Homemade Heat Packs

Put two worn-out socks or mittens loaded with uncooked rice in the microwave for 30 seconds.
Grab one heated sock in each hand and gently run them over the entire inner surface of the windshield glass while seated in your car.

- To prevent dew and snow from getting to your windshield wiper blades and causing them to freeze in place on the glass, lay an old stocking or knee-high sock over each one.
